About HealthServe

Healthserve offers a wide range of workforce staffing solutions across the UK healthcare sector to provide transparency, service excellence and cost savings to our clients which include NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers.

We offer a bespoke service with solutions tailored to meet your specific needs and not just an ‘off the shelf’ solution.
By tailoring our approach, we can ensure that you only pay for what you need. Our services are built to provide specific packages for you where you can bolt on additional services as and when required.

Health Serve was established to help ease those stresses by supplying Trusts with expert teams of clinicians. The solutions can range from simply providing short term locum placements for trust rotas, through to major service reviews requiring significant restructuring of clinical services. Experience to date suggests the biggest demand is for:

  • Clinical insourcing working with groups of clinicians and managers to find innovative solutions to trusts problems, such as creating LLP or other commercial vehicles for the benefit of the trust
  • Short to medium term management of waiting time issues in certain specialties
  • Clinical pathway reviews and implementation of new pathways
  • Dedicated recruitment teams making substantive appointments for long term trust solutions

We have a dedicated team who will meet with you at the outset and tailor a service model. We will then provide on-going consultancy to ensure the package you have selected remains fit for purpose.
Our services include insourcing and managed service provision including our neutral vendor model.

Neutral Vendor model

Our neutral vendor solution provides a transparent delivery model which operates independently from the agency supply chain. The service is powered by technology to support the full lifecycle of contingent labour.

As a neutral vendor, we have a dedicated supply chain and all vacancies are released at the same time, across the supply chain ensuring a transparent service model who can respond quickly to meet your demand. Neutral Vendor suppliers are more incentivised to make cost savings for your organisation and have SLAs in place for fill rates and cost reductions to remain on the supply chain cascade.

The recruitment process for all suppliers is standardised and a consistent standard of compliance is met, ensuring framework and contractual compliance levels are met and maintained.

Neutral Vendor models are particularly suited for niche or hard-to-fill areas, where it is important to maintain relationships with existing specialist suppliers and to support cost savings and supply chain rationalisation.
You can expect a dedicated Account Manager who will manage all correspondence with your organisation, limiting the administrative burden on your staff and providing you with a single point of contact.

Why Insourcing?

Meeting RTT pathways is a major issue facing Trust management teams, while managing budgets is another, and equally acute.

However, with Clinical Commissioning Groups providing financial support to those hospitals most effectively meeting their targets, utilising weekend teams from HealthServe provides no extra financial pressure. Indeed, it is possible you may even retain a small surplus over fees paid.

ENHANCING YOUR REPUTATION

‘Competitive’ is not a word usually used in connection with the NHS, but hospitals are increasingly ranked by performance and outcomes. Hospital management teams accept this competitive element as a fact of NHS life.

Inspection reports highlighting shortcomings in a Trust’s performance mean intrusive press coverage. Social media adds to negative perceptions, leading to internal reviews, the commissioning of time-consuming action plans, and a demotivated workforce.

The simple fact is that satisfied patients, their families and friends, contribute overwhelmingly to the reputation of a hospital, and in turn deliver a significant boost to staff morale.

Engaging HealthServe’s weekend teams cuts waiting lists and contributes substantially to enhanced hospital reputation and patient satisfaction.

Solving the RTT conundrum

At the operational heart of every NHS Trust there is a key conundrum. How do we deliver improved Referral-to-Treatment services in an 18-week timeframe within our resources and budget?

The independent Kings Fund reports that as the NHS operates under some of the most challenging performance standards in the world, the waiting list for elective treatment could increase to five million by 2021.

It’s the conundrum facing every hospital in the land, and the one most keenly exercising their management teams seeking to run them in the most effective, and caring, way possible.

HealthServe helps solve the conundrum by providing superb clinical teams to work in conjunction with existing hospital staff.

The result? A focussed approach towards helping NHS hospitals…..

  • Reduce 18 week waiting times
  • Improve patients’ expectations and experience
  • Enhance Trusts’ reputation for effective, timely and expert service delivery

HealthServe teams have a direct beneficial impact, maximising hospitals’ capacity, always focussing forensically on making the service patient-centric, ensuring they are treated within the familiar surroundings of the hospital to which they have been admitted.

Our Approach

We have a tailor-made approach to supplying clinical teams to meet your most pressing RTT requirements.

First, we talk – we discover from you exactly what is causing potential delays in treatment. Is it a localised issue? A long-standing administrative problem? Or recruitment issues causing staff shortages.

Then, in conjunction with you, we produce a detailed plan to help resolve the waiting list backlog or other clinical issues. During that time…..

We research and refine, using our database of some of Britain’s finest clinical practitioners, and begin the process of identifying those best suited to meeting your requirements under a specialist clinical director.

We visit your hospital. We talk to those members of staff with whom we will be working at weekends. We gain their trust and support. We access in-depth knowledge of those patients we will be treating. And, having done that……

We provide you with a plan of action and execution so there is a precise understanding of our role within your hospital, and how we can achieve maximum outcomes.

Following delivery of the plan, we provide an audit report to record the efficiency and effectiveness of the plan, your satisfaction with outcomes, and, if required, a detailed schedule of further weekend work by HealthServe teams.
