Professional profile

Dr Nizamuddin is our HealthServe Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology and Medical Services. With expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures, screening, surveillance and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, he also holds a special interest in diseases of the stomach and intestines.

His background covers referrals for patients needing endoscopy or presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms, such as: dyspepsia, change in bowel habit, rectal bleeding, anaemia, weight loss, inflammatory bowel diseases, irritable bowel disease and abnormal liver function tests.

After specialist training in the West Midlands region, Dr Nizamuddin took up an Advanced Endoscopy “post CCT” – Fellowship under the tutelage of the world-renowned Prof Pradeep Bhandari at Portsmouth U.K.

He is presently working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in the East Midlands region, including hospitals such as Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Kings Mill Hospital.

Extensive teaching experience with Advance Endoscopic techniques, covering Dye spray for Barretts Screening, grade 4 polypectomy and hands on experience in EMR and ESD. He has been part of pioneering teams for new endoscopic techniques involved in diagnosis and endoscopic treatment of cancers.

Based on experience and skills acquired during his Endoscopy Fellowship and Consultant experience, Dr Nizamuddin has significantly influenced the diagnosis, screening, surveillance and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers.

He regularly works on complex patients and receive referrals from other hospitals for chromo endoscopy and endoscopic mucosal resection (endoscopic removal of cancerous and precancerous lesions without the need for radical surgery).
